2002/03/05 Final Fantasy wallpapers back
Today I re-added the old Final Fantasy Wallpapers. I re-did some of them to increase quality in 1024x768 size.

My first update after the collapse :) I added two Breath of Fire images (one drawn by Ruro and colored by me) and one Grandia image.

2002/03/03 GEEZ!
Oh boy, I went through some weeks! Right after my last update, I caught a illness and wasn't able to do updates. And after I went fine again, my Harddisk with the website crashed. I have my old PC, but it wasn't able to use my DSL access in order to download the website, and with modem, I couldn't get access to any website. Phew... well anyway, I made some changes on the old PC here (which was the Data storage PC, thank god!) so I now have access to the website again. Today, I downloaded the whole website so that I can do updates again! All I can say now is "stay tuned!" :)

2002/02/10 Small update?
After some people complained about the little character images in the Chrono Trigger gallery, I tried if I can scan the ones in the manual and remove the purple background - it worked! It was kind of a hard work, so I just updated my "guinea pig" More to come soon

2002/02/03 A bigger update this time
Took me some time to do, though. IRe-added the Secret of Mana images from the old pics and opened two new, small wallpaper pages with one wallpaper of Tales of Destiny and Persona 2. From now on, the wallpaper pages contain information of how the wallpaper is (e.g. 1024 x 768 etc.)

First, sorry for not updating the last two days, but I worked hard on the screenshot gallery that finally opened today. I made many betas and deleted them after because i didn't like them. But finally, today there is the new Screenshot gallery! Two things additional: I didn't have time to replace all the links to the gallery yet, so I just made that at the media page and - of course - the two screenshot galleries. so you might find an UCS screen when you click onto "screenshots"... I fix that tomorrow :)

I just opened the inbox (I was surprised, after all the problems I got it fixed faster than I thought)! There you can find images that aren't at the RPG-O-Mania yet, there are all images I just recieved and I might update - or not (if copyright problems occur, for example). Boxart?
I began opening the "new section" I mentioned some weeks ago. It is the Game CD section, means: Scans of game CDs. Since I didn't know where to add this, I thought that it may be wise to just add it to the concerning games in the boxart section... what do you think?
Future projects
You may have noticed that I didn't update much the last 5 days. The reason is this: I am planning to open a "inbox" section where I put all the images I just got or found somewhere. This means that you can see what I will, or maybe will not update to the page. Later on, I maybe let everyone upload the RPG art he thinks deserves to be added here. I have some problems with the script and the webspace, though.

This will be my final main page update. Why? Doc Ower and me have had complications regarding the running of the page. So I have opted to leave and begin a new site with several people. Oh my god! It's done... the re-organization of the wallpapers has been finished. I will split up the misc. gallery of the wallpapers and add the Grandia and Suikoden galleries, but I didn't want to do that now... doing this job was hard enough. By the way, I added lots of new Final Fantasy 9 wallpapers too, and to give the new wallpaper system a reason, I added 2 versions of every new wallpaper... just check out the Final Fantasy gallery in the brand new wallpapers section!

I've removed the old spin-chat applet and added the jIRC applet. OK, the applet is a crappy evaluation-version, but you don't need it. Along with the applet, I made a cooperation with RPGLair and now we have our own IRC channel! (#rpglair at irc.kewl.org). Have much fun with it.

A BIG movie problem, new order in misc. gallery (2000/08/08)
Well, today I noticed that the movies folder in the Movieworld has been deleted... I don't know who or what is responsible for that, I promise to find out what happened.

Recently, I saw in the guestbook the following entry from Casey:
"I have only one complaint I hate the little boxes that show up on you screen when your searching for something.....
I think everyone hates them or its just me [...]"
I guess he / she talks about the pop-up windows I am forced to have. I know, pop-ups are disgusting and everyone hates them, but let me explain the following: I have to pay my webspace provider bill every half year, and the amount is $90,00. If I don't take that pop-up, the amount to pay of the bill would be $120,00... I don't have too much money, so I can't keep the RPG-O-MANIA online without that window. Anyway, there are several ways that helps you to stifle that window. First of all, simply minimize it and it won't show up again. If you don't like this solution, then maybe you want a program that stifles pop-ups. There are several programs that will help you with this problem, but I don't recognize any of them at the moment.

anniversary, movieworld, file update (2000/04/24)
I still can't believe it, but the RPG-O-MANIA is now over one year old. When I began working on "The World Of Doc Ower" in September 1998, I'd never thought that this page would have more than 16.200 visitors. The page first was held on a free-of-charge server with 10 MB of space. This was on April 24th, 1999. The page didn't get much popularity and I closed the project in June 1999. But strangely, the counter grew and grew... So in July 99 I began to work on a new RPG-O-MANIA, the RPG-O-MANIA TSP, v.3.0. And this site was successfull... it is the one you're currently on.
I thought long what specialty I should offer on the 1st anniversary of this page. Since I like RPG and Anime Movies, I opened a new page in cooperation with Mr.Patate from Canada: The RPG-O-MANIA Movieworld, a page full of high quality RPG and Videogame Movies. I think the line up is quite good: 16 high quality movies with a total size of over 260 MB - more to come.
Since we worked hard to open the R.-O-M. Movieworld, I only was able to add 5 Midis - Picture will follow tomorrow or the day after.

Added a completely new (old) section: The "games"-section! It vanished along with the old RPG-O-MANIA, and now I decided to give it life again. I have some things in mind which I will add soon. As I mentioned yesterday, I created a new poll today. The results of the old one will come tomorrow. Tomorrow I will also add a bunch of great midis and the "Games" section will have it's premiere. Thanks goes to Catfighter who wrote some good reviews a few months ago. Besides, I made a mistake. The 1st anniversary is not on April 21th, it's on April 24th. I bought the domain on april 21th, 1999 but I uploaded the first pages on April 24th.

BoxArt opened / Bugfix (99/12/09)
Finally, I was able to open the boxart section. It contains 7 scans of Sega packages. But there will follow much soon!
A friend of me sent me an e-mail where he mentioned that the Sega-Section won't work. That's correctly and I fixed the bug. This bug was because I plan a new Sega section which can be entered just with typing www.rpg-o-mania.de/sega. In the new version, the main Sega site is already called "index.htm", and with one of the last updates, I uploaded the left frame without changing the Sega site's name.

PS4 Pictures / File Update (99/12/03)
The PS4 "cut-scene" section includes now the ending screens. Since I were unable to defeat the Profound Darkness, a good friend of mine took this screenshots, but I think there are missing a few. I try to defat this boss and take the screen shots by my own, so that I find out if this are all and that my honor is restored.

Now that Advent has begun, I decided to putt a small Santa Claus onto my website. I hope that isn't annoying. While speaking of this, the Bavarian Webring has been handed over to D'OriginalAce because it annoyed me that I have to keep this webring with my 50 MB of webspace while he has already 150 MB... no, no, just kidding. Changes Done, Act 1 / Now 40 people a day!
I changed the Midi-pages so that searching for a file is more convenient. I also removed table transparency from the midi-pages - Now scrolling in the page is much faster.
And yes, in the last days, there were 40 people/day surfing my page... Hey, that's cool!

Please excuse this circumstance, but I added a new soundcard and a CD-writer to my PC so I had to fight with the new components. After that, I changed the design of the R-O-M a little and I added a few pics.

I decided to remove new midis from the "what's new" page every second update from now on. I do this because if you miss an update, It's very hard to find out what files are new (Oh my god, what a horrible grammar! It's because I have a horrible cold...)
