Kenji Ito

Written in 2005

As many video game musicians, Kenji Ito had piano lessons at a very young age. His love for music developed very soon, and with the young age of 10 he already decided to become a songwriter. In 1990, he joined Square Enix and created some of the best game music that time.

Seiken Densetsu (Final Fantasy Adventure / Mystic Quest) was one of his early milestones. He has a rather upbeat music style, but other than Motoi Sakuraba for example, his skill has more variety and he is able to create lots of different styles.

In 2001, Kenji Ito left Square Enix in order to be a freelance musician. His last work was the self-remixed soundtrack for Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu (Legend of Mana). As Noriyuki Iwadare, he's no real mass-producing Video Game musician. But almost every soundtrack of him is something special and helps even average games to build up some sort of motivation.
